Según llemos en La Voz de Asturias:

Trabajan en las cocinas, en la lavandería o en mantenimiento. Son algo más de un millar de empleados y temen por su futuro. La Junta de Personal del área cuarta sospecha que en el traslado del actual Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias al nuevo centro se supriman estos puestos de trabajo. Los sindicatos con representación en el HUCA denuncian el "silencio absoluto" que mantiene la Administración autónomica sobre el futuro de estos profesionales y temen que el Servicio de Salud aproveche la mudanza para privatizar estos empleos.

La junta de personal manifiesta sentirse igualmente preocupada por la pérdida de 300 camas entre el actual y el nuevo centro. Los sindicatos indican que el hosptial es un centro de referencia regional, estatal para algunas especialidades y, además, comarcal para el área sanitaria con cabecera en Oviedo. Las fuerzas sociales subrayan que el aumento de la edad de los pacientes hace impensable una reducción de los índices de estancia media. Los usuarios, señalan en un comunicado remitido ayer, no pueden ser tratados como meros números estadísticos para cubrir de gloria a "nefastos" gestores.

La junta de personal añade además que no se puede hablar de nuevos modelos organizativos, como se viene haciendo por la Administración sanitaria, sin contar con la mayoría de los trabajadores. "Es una muestra de oscurantismo y falta de diálogo" que, según los sindicatos, está guiando todo este proceso. Los representantes sociales quieren denunciar también que se está experimentando en el HUCA los futuros servicios asistenciales lo que crea una situación de "caos absoluto" entre los trabajadores y los usuarios. Se registran, siempre según los sindicatos, constantes traslados de enfermos, órdenes contradictorias entre los distintos mandos y continuas rectificaciones. Señalan, por último, que en una situación de crisis económica brutal proliferan en el centro nuevos mandos y jefaturas.
